Lake Pukaki, South Island, New Zealand

Lake Pukaki on a clear and sunny spring day, with the Southern Alps in the background. Lake Pukaki is one of the beautiful alpine lakes in Mackenzie District in the Canterbury region on New Zealand’s South Island. It sits between Lake Tekapo and Lake Ohau and, like its neighbours, was formed by a receding glacier. You can even see Aoraki / Mount Cook in the far distance from its southern shore.

    Great photo,

I love pictures taken at ground level like that and seem to be taking more and more like that myself!
